This week back on May 3, 1952, marked the first time (most likely) a person actually stood on the actual geographical North Pole! Flying a modifed US Air Force C-47 with Skis, 3 men landed within a short walking distance of the North Pole. Lieutenant Colonel Joseph O. Fletcher and Lieutenant Colonel William P. Benedict, along with Dr. Albert P. Crary stood at the North Pole and became the first to do so undisputed.
